From check-in at the airport, to disembarking at your arrival airport, we hope the information below helps you plan your next flight with Blue Islands and enjoy a comfortable travel experience when flying with children and infants.
Ages defined
An Infant is up to 2 years old at time of return flight. If the infant becomes 2 years old whilst traveling, you will need to book a child fare.
Passengers are asked to seek medical advice when travelling with a baby within 7 days of birth, we advise against travel within 24 hours of birth.
Infants can only travel with an adult and sit on the adult’s lap. Our Cabin Crew will provide a special seat belt for the adult and infant plus an infant life jacket and will be able to offer any assistance needed.
There is a flat fare for infants of £20 per one way flight.
A Child will have their own seat and must travel with an adult, children aged 11 or under are unable to travel alone and will not be accepted for travel unaccompanied.
A Youth is between 12 and up to 15 years old at the time of return travel and may travel alone, please see travelling unchaperoned below.
An Adult is anyone aged 16 or over at the time of the return journey.
Unaccompanied travel
Child welfare is very important to us and that's why we no longer operate a Child unaccompanied minor scheme.
A Youth (ages 12-15) may travel unchaperoned, on point-to-point services only, this means they will need to make their own way through the airport, to the departure gate, on to the aircraft and then through the arrival airport unaccompanied.
We are unable to accept bookings for unchaperoned travel where the journey involves more than one flight, either outbound or inbound.
The Youth should have the provision to communicate with the responsible adults at arrival and departure airports, further to this we recommend the responsible adult(s) wait at the departure airport for 15 minutes after the flight has departed and the responsible adult(s) are at the destination airport are in the arrivals area at least 15 minutes before the flight's scheduled arrival time.
Bookings for Youths travelling unchaperoned can be made by contacting the Customer Care team.
