From surfing in Jersey to golf in Devon, we want you to be able to enjoy your chosen sport at your destination, which is why you can use your included 23kg hold luggage allowance for your sporting equipment.

As there is limited capacity for sporting equipment in the aircraft hold, if you do wish to travel with surf boards, skis, bicycles or other items of sporting equipment or objects of an unusual size, all you need to do is contact our Customer Care team and tell us which you would like to check-in as hold luggage.

If you have booked a Blue Fly fare, you have 1 x 23kg hold luggage allowance, if you have a Blue Plus fare, you have 2 x 23kg hold luggage included, additional hold luggage items can be added to your booking for £20.

We recommend allowing extra time at the airport for check-in and using any airport specific oversized baggage facilities.

Golf equipment

If you wish to travel with your golf clubs these can be carried as your included 23kg hold luggage allowance. There is a limit to the number of golf bags we can carry on a flight please contact our Customer Care team to include your golf clubs as your hold luggage.

Surfboards

If you wish to travel with your surfboard please contact our Customer Care team.

Bicycles

If you wish to travel with your bicycle, in a suitable bag, this can be carried as your included 23kg hold luggage allowance. There is a limit to the number of bicycles we can carry and as with all sporting equipment bicycles are carried subject to space. Please contact our Customer Care team to include your bicycle as your hold luggage.

Skis & snowboards

For ski trips we can accommodate skis and snowboards, please contact our Customer Care team to include your ski or snowboard.

If you wish to carry Sporting guns & ammunition, please contact our Customer Care team.

There are several ways your musical instrument can travel.

Items measuring less than 55 x 36 x 20cm can part of your cabin baggage allowance.

Larger musical instruments, one per passenger, weighing less than 20kg, can be carried in the cabin when you purchase a seat for the item. The item will need to secured with a safety lap strap and must be next to you on the inside seat (next to the window). The centre of mass must not be more than 30cm above the seat cushion.

Please contact our Customer Care team if you wish to purchase a dedicated seat for your musical instrument.

For other musical instruments you will need to check them in as hold luggage in a suitable protective case.

We recommend adequate travel insurance is also obtained.

Additional pieces of hold luggage will be charged at £20 per item.

Excess hold luggage is carried subject to space availability, if your luggage travels on the next available flight, you will need to collect this from your destination airport.

The maximum weight for a single item of checked-in hold item is 32kg.

Payment

Payment for excess luggage can be made at the airport.

If in the event you have excess or oversized cabin baggage this may need to be placed as hold luggage, there may be a £20 hold luggage charge to pay depending on your allowance.

PORTABLE ELECTRONIC DEVICES (PED) CONTAINING LITHIUM METAL OR LITHIUM ION CELLS OR BATTERIES

There is a limit of 15 items per passenger when carried by passengers for personal use items include, medical devices such as portable oxygen concentrators (POC) and consumer electronics such as cameras, mobile phones, laptops and tablets etc.

For lithium metal batteries the lithium metal content must not exceed 100 Watt Hours.

Devices in hold baggage must be completely switched off and must be protected from damage.

Baggage equipped with a lithium battery, other than lithium button cells, the battery must be removable. If offered as hold luggage the battery must be removed and carried in the cabin.

items with a Watt Hour rating exceeding 100 but not exceeding 160 & spare or loose batteries

For portable medical electronic devices only, lithium metal content exceeding 2g but not exceeding 8g. Devices in hold baggage must be completely switched off and protected from damage.

You will need approval to carry these items on the aircraft, please contact our please contact our Customer Care team 48 hours prior to departure to advise of the items.

Maximum of two spare or loose batteries in cabin baggage only. These batteries must be individually protected to prevent short circuits. 

The following items cannot be carried on the aircraft as hold luggage or cabin baggage:

• Radioactive material, oxidising materials or organic peroxides including bleaches and fibreglass repair kits
• Corrosives or bleaching agents such as mercury, acids, alkalis, and wet-cell batteries
• Vehicle batteries and fuel systems
• Self defence or disabling sprays (for example mace, pepper spray)
• Poisons or toxic substances such as insecticides weed killers, arsenic, and cyanide
• Infectious substances or biological hazards such as infected blood, bacteria, viruses
• Materials that could spontaneously combust (burst into flames), including deeply refrigerated flammable, non-flammable and poisonous gases such as butane, oxygen, propane, and aqualung cylinders
• Fire extinguishers

Explosives and incendiary substances and devices cannot be carried in hold luggage or cabin baggage on the aircraft including:

• Firearms such as handguns, automatic weapons and flare guns*
• Ammunition including blank cartridges
• Blasting caps
• Detonators and fuses
• Mines, grenades and other explosive military stores
• Fireworks and other pyrotechnics
• Dynamite, gunpowder and plastic explosives
• Smoke canisters and crackers
