BLUE ISLANDS SECURES BIRMINGHAM AND EXETER ROUTES FOR JERSEY PASSENGERS
Blue Islands confirms two new routes from Jersey to Birmingham and Jersey to Exeter. The year-round services will commence on Wednesday 11 March and will shortly be bookable at www.blueislands.com.
These additional services to Birmingham and Exeter will help to secure and maintain the island’s connectivity. Following the collapse of Flybe, Blue Islands has already provided services to Birmingham and Exeter this week, flying passengers without charge to ensure they were not left stranded.
Rob Veron, CEO Blue Islands says,
As a locally-owned and operated airline we are committed to serving the Channel Islands communities and we are delighted to be able to confirm these two new routes to maintain essential connectivity between Jersey and the UK. Our aim is to sustainably develop our route network and invest in our air links.
We are delighted at the announcement that Blue Islands will be flying from Jersey to Birmingham and Exeter. As a Channel Islands based airline, Blue Islands share our confidence in the strength of the Jersey market. We are really pleased that they have acted so quickly to add these routes.
said Matt Thomas, CEO of Ports of Jersey.
Flights to Birmingham will provide easy access to cities across the Midlands, while the Exeter service will connect islanders to the heart of the South West for Devon and Cornwall.
The Blueislands.com website has now been restored and passengers can book online or by calling 0203 7443689 between 08.00 and 20.00. “We look forward to welcoming travellers on board these new services and would like to thank our customers for the tremendous support they have given Blue Islands in recent days."
