Exmouth is the western gateway to the Jurassic Coast. It lies on the east bank of the mouth of the River Exe, only 12 miles south east of Exeter Airport. Book your getaway today and begin your walk through time...

Exmouth Beach

The town has been a popular seaside resort since the 18th century and is thought to be the oldest holiday resort in Devon. The beach has two miles of golden sand and a wealth of rock pools to explore, making it a paradise for children and families. It is also a popular destination for a variety of watersports including kite surfing, kayaking and windsurfing.

Exe Estuary

The nearby Exe Estuary is one of the most beautiful in Britain, and is a haven for birdlife. A large part of the estuary lies within a nature reserve and is noted in particular for migrating and wading birds including sandpipers and the rare avocet.

Jurassic Coast Cruise

Sit back and relax as you sail through time with the most stunning views of the 185-million-year-old geological portrait. Cruises depart from Exmouth Marina and are the perfect way for friends or family to see the Triassic Era of this World Heritage Site from its best perspective.

Orcombe Point

Orcombe Point in Exmouth is marked by a five metre high geoneedle constructed in the sequence of the rocks deposited along the Jurassic Coast. Admire the spectacular rainbow of rusty red rocks before accessing the South West Coast Path which runs the entire 630 mile length of the Jurassic coast.

Charmouth

If you want to go fossil hunting on the Jurassic Coast, the delightful unspoilt seaside village of Charmouth is the place to head. There are lots of organised trips where you can learn the best tips and techniques for finding fossils. And after all the hunting, it is the perfect place to relax on the beach or enjoy traditional grub in one of the local cafés and pubs.
